Looking at the outside of Le Champignon Sauvage, it appears to be an ordinary restaurant situated on a fairly random street in Cheltenham but a quick glance at some guide books shows that this is a place with a serious reputation.
This restaurant is certainly worth a detour although I was maybe slightly disappointed by the food due to my prior high expectations. The service here is very good and the paintings help lift the non-descript room a bit which makes things more pleasant. For this standard of restaurant the food and drink is also relatively well priced which is always good to see.
Beef tarter wasabi mayo, corned beef
Lobster- miso, onion and orange
Free Birthday desert (always nice!)
